I have been looking forward to this day for over a year now!! With all that 2020 brought our way, it was such a delight to have things seemingly feel like they used to be pre-2020. I met Emily in 2016 when I photographed her sister Lauras wedding. (Kurt & Laura‘s wedding was one for the books and they now have two sweet little boys.) This beautiful Saturday in July was particularly humid and hot but honestly you would have never known it! These two were just so excited and happy to be finally getting married!
As we arrived at the Getting Ready location (the gorgeous home of Nicks grandparents), I was just a few steps into the home when I just knew that this day was going to be amazing. I made my way to where Emily was getting ready and there were family and friends everywhere! There were babies being fed, little ones getting their dress clothes on and grandmothers getting their makeup finished up. With all of this going on though…it was so calm.
This feeling didn’t change throughout the whole day. Nick and Emily’s first look and garden portraits were serene and quiet. When the whole bridal party showed up, the air was filled with love and laughter. And everyone really braved that 100 degree heat and didn’t even complain!
Nick & Emily were surrounded all day by their family. Emily’s mom worked many hours on creating all the centerpieces, the yummy cake, and also doing all the flowers for the day. It was truly a labor of love and it was all just so stunning!
Nick and Emily..thank you for choosing me to document this long awaited day. It is truly an honor to be able to tell your love story through my eyes. I don’t take it for granted and am so thankful that you entrusted me to do so! I hope you are enjoying your first few days of being husband and wife and are relaxing on the beach in Hawaii as we speak!
Here are just a few of my very favorites from the day!
