When I arrived on Saturday morning, there was a calmness in the room. Oh, there was milling around and lots of makeup and curling irons being used. But there was just an overall peace walking into Becky’s parents house that I could feel in my heart.
I came upon Becky and she was already stunning. But she wasn’t even in her dress yet! And her hair and makeup wasn’t even finished.
She was smiling from ear to ear.
Because the day had come where in just a few hours, she could call Kaleb her “husband.”
Before you knew it, it was time to be getting in that gorgeous dress. But first…Becky had to practice her first dance with her dad one last time!
Just a few miles down the road, Kaleb was doing some getting ready of his own!
It was finally the time to see Becky in *that* dress!
I have been asked quite a few times about what my favorite part of a wedding is. My answer changes frequently because there are so many parts to a wedding that just take my breath away. There are some parts that bring tears to my own eyes because the love and joy is so palpable.
But the part that I just giddy about is the “First Look”! I just feel so honored that I get to be a “bug on the wall” and witness that moment when a bride & groom first lay eyes on each other!
Kaleb was ALL smiles as he waited for his stunning bride!
We were then headed back to meet up with the bridal party…but first we made a little detour to check in at the very place that these two spent HOURS at getting to know each other. There were many late night chats (over shared mozzarella sticks!) and “getting to know each other nights” that took place at the “Windy City Subs”. We showed up and they acted as though it was college all over again!
A few more minutes to grab some more “almost husband and wife” photos!
As the guests were arriving, the bridesmaids and Becky were tucked away. Prayers were being offered up for this new marriage and new life that lay before them!
On and off throughout the day, the rain would come in and it would leave. It repeated this cycle a few times too! But just when the ceremony was supposed to start, the skies parted and the sunshine just brought even MORE beauty to the day!
And then, as the song “You’re The One That I Want” by Angus & Julia Stone began to play, Becky appeared at the end of aisle. Her eyes were locked on him. That guy she always wanted…
And just like that…just after they sealed it with a kiss…they were Mr. & Mrs. Dean!
So much love and congrats go out to these two! It was my complete and utmost honor to document and tell your love story.
I hope you are having the time of your life in Mexico!
