One of my most favorite things about being a photographer is that no two sessions are ever alike!  When Lauren called me and let me know that they wanted to do their session downtown Chicago…I wanted to let out a giant squeal but instead I let a semi-giant…”YES!!” I LOVE new landscape and new places to explore for sessions!  Chicago did NOT disappoint! Neither did Lauren & Devin 😉

When Devin knew he was going to propose, he started to plan the details and decided on a little bar right down the street from where they lived (at the time) called The Charleston.  They would frequent there often as a couple after a long day at work or just to catch up on time together.  He visited there right before he was going to pop the question and had them bring out champagne glasses.  Then came some roses delivered to the table and THAT is when Lauren knew this was the moment!  We decide to take a little visit there for some of their shots because it’s a part of their love story!

Devin is a local firefighter and one of his firefighter friends who just happened to live in the same neighborhood as Lauren thought they would be the perfect fit for one another!  (Side fact: When my own kiddos were little, Lauren lived right across the street from us and provided babysitting when we needed it!  My kiddos still talk about all the fun they had when Lauren was over babysitting.)  Looks like Tom (the firefighter friend) may need to go into the matchmaking business!  Because he was RIGHT.  Lauren & Devin are the perfect fit!!

These two are getting married at Starved Rock next Summer and I can’t wait!!
